Implementing the 2007-2008 Special Appropriations [FPCC]; Provides for the incorporation by reference of certain calculations used by the Legislature for the 2007-2008 fiscal year. Provides legislative intent with respect to reductions in expenditures made by district school boards. Increases the amount that certain school districts may expend, per unweighted full-time equivalent student, from the revenue generated by the 2007-2008 district school tax levy, etc. EFFECTIVE DATE: 03/14/2008. |

Prekindergarten Education Pilot Program [SPCC]; Establishes the pilot program to enhance the quality of the Voluntary Prekindergarten Education Program. Specifies counties and provides requirements for individual participants. Provides for voluntary participation by prekindergarten providers. Provides duties of the Early Learning Coalition of the Big Bend Region and community colleges. Authorizes the coalition to apply for and secure grants and funding, etc. EFFECTIVE DATE: 07/01/2008. |
