Roy Miller

Roy Miller serves as President for the Children's Campaign, Inc.

Roy is a former partner in a governmental relations and consulting firm and has extensive experience in campaign planning and execution. He managed the campaigns of candidates affiliated with both political parties as well as non-partisan judicial races and referendum issues. His winning average exceeded 80 percent.

Along with specializing in grassroots and media driven educational outreach efforts, Roy has extensive experience in youth policy analysis in juvenile justice, deinstitutionalization, and alternatives to judicial processing. He directed a community-based agency for 12+ years providing services to troubled and street youth. He was appointed to the Governor's Task Force for Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention by Governor Reubin Askew, and was appointed Chairman by Governor Bob Graham. He represented the southern region in Washington D.C. through service on the National Steering Committee of State Advisory Groups.

Roy is a graduate of Leadership St. Petersburg and is a former board member of numerous children and youth organizations, including service as President of the Florida Network of Youth and Family Services.

Roy graduated Summa Cum Laude from Florida State University. Roy and his wife, Jan, support several public interest causes.

Linda Alexionok

Linda Alexionok serves as Executive Director for Children’s Campaign, Inc.

A recognized business and community leader in North Florida, Linda has supported the Florida School Readiness Coalition initiative since 2000 and recently served as Chair of the Leon/Gadsden School Readiness Coalition. Linda also serves as a member on the Board of Directors, United Way of the Big Bend; Tallahassee Memorial Hospital Foundation; FSU College of Education Alumni; and the Capital Women’s Network.

Linda began her leadership and community service as a Leon County public school teacher before transferring to the field of banking. She was recognized by the American Institute of Banking as “Banker of the Year”; was a nominee for the Tallahassee Chamber’s “Small Business Advocate” and “Leadership Pacesetter Awards; and received the Tallahassee Community College’s “Women Putting Their Stamp on History” award. Linda served as a Community Bank CEO from 1996-2000.

Linda has often been asked why she left the classroom. She is always quick to respond that she never left the classroom, she just made the world her classroom. Linda’s business, community service and educational knowledge and skills bring to the Children’s Campaign a wealth of experience and leadership to guide the advocacy efforts of the Campaign’s UPK initiative.

Raquel Bailey

Raquel Bailey serves as the Meeting Coordinator/Event Planner for the Children's Campaign, Inc.

Raquel manages the customization of meeting and event planning documents and procedures for internal and external communication. Connecting every logistical component to build a solid framework is her main goal; to measure the initial objective of every meeting/event and create detailed evaluations that will ultimately lead back to the objective.

Raquel earned her International Baccalaureate diploma in Vienna, Austria and later earned her Bachelors degree in English at the Florida State University in Tallahassee, FL.  She is originally from St. Andrews, Jamaica.

Raquel's previous employment history specialized in the areas of executive administration, public relations and key data management. Her previous administrative experience with Federal Alliance for Safe Homes, Inc. (FLASH) a not-for-profit organization coupled with her experience as a junior executive assistant for successful lobbyists at Mixon & Associates, Inc., makes her a valuable fit for our team. 

Raquel is also a bilingual published writer who seeks to enlighten, educate and entertain her readers with short fiction, creative nonfiction, (haiku) poetry and lyric writing. Raquel has a beautiful daughter who is a very bright honor roll student.

Christen Smiley

Christen Smiley serves as the Coordinator of Communications for Children’s Campaign, Inc.

Christen is responsible for the development and management of the organization’s mass communications inclusive of electronic communication while coordinating and promoting the image of the organization to the public.

Christen earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Public Relations from Florida A&M University, with a concentration in Spanish.

Her previous employment experience specialized in public relations and communications. She served as Fundraising Chair and Special Events Coordinator of Prodigy, a student run PR firm. She also served in the area of communications while interning for WSFA 12 in Montgomery, Alabama.

Honors include Florida Bright Futures Scholar, Hap Arnold Grant recipient and member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars.

Christen is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and her personal passions include reading, writing, traveling, music, art and spending time with friends and family.
