CIS TEAM UP Students Take Part in Local Competitions!

  

Communities In Schools of Jacksonville TEAM UP after school students from several CIS Jax TEAM UP sites recently competed in the Annual James "Coach" Day Track and Field Meet.  Over 100 students ran, jumped and hopped to the finish line at Long Branch Elementary to represent their schools.  In the end, Debrigh Lee from Reynolds Lane Elementary School won the all-around trophy for the girls and Larry Belcher from Sallye B. Mathis won the all-around trophy for the boys.

  

CIS Jax students also participated in the Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Oratorical Contest.  The speeches addressed an imaginary conversation between each student and President Barack Obama.  Benjamin Lee from Sallye B. Mathis Elementary School won the elementary division and Thea Little from Eugene Butler Middle School won the middle school division.
