WHAT Teens Take On Politics was created by the Children’s
Campaign, Inc. in 1996 and is made available through partnership with
sponsors. Teens Take on Politics organizes and convenes election year
debates featuring high school students who question candidates for
local, state and federal office. WHY
Direct dialogue with youth benefits our elected officials in their
pursuit to provide exemplary leadership and service through the
administration of public policy and innovative public and community
partnerships to address the needs of children.
Teens Take On Politics prepares high school students for leadership
positions in their communities and helps them develop into thoughtful,
informed voters.
The debates also balance the negative images of teen behavior that
are scattered throughout the media: substance abuse, malicious conduct
and serious crime. Through Teens Take On Politics, the public sees
more constructive images—the youth who will lead us tomorrow
engaging in conversation with those who are leading us today.
