Voting is your number one advocacy tool. It is your opportunity to decide who will represent you in the policy making process, in your community, state, and country. It is important to be informed about candidates, and elections before placing your vote. You can learn more by going to the State Division of Elections site (http://election.dos.state.fl.us/index.html), candidate web sites (enter candidate’ name into a search engine), and your newspaper (both hard copy and online)

Some pages that can help on the Florida Division of Elections Site:

Poll workers are available at all voting sites, to answer questions and help you with the physical aspect of voting.

Congratulations on making the decision to register, and adding your voice to the policy making process.

Helpful Hints for Those Already Registered:

  • Check your voter registration card to make sure all information is correct
  • Sign your voter registration card, and bring it and a photo ID that includes your signature to the polling place
  • If you do not know the location of your polling place call your Supervisor of Elections (http://election.dos.state.fl.us/SOE/supervisor_elections.shtml ) BEFORE elections day
  • Polls are open from 7:00am to 7:00pm on election day, they are normally less busy in mid-morning and mid-afternoon
