The State of Florida lost another great advocate for children this month. Joan Nabors spent over 40 years advocating for Florida’s children. She was an avid advocate for quality early learning and the importance of workplace childcare.
Her jobs for children ranged from mother to preschool director to nonprofit founder.
She served on Governor Graham’s Governor’s Constituency for Children, was the director of Florida’s Children’s Coalition, and was recently honored as a “Champion for Children.”
Ms. Nabors launched Downtown Babies in 1996, a child care that now serves as a national model.
Florida’s children have lost a great advocate. Children’s Campaign thoughts are with her family and the children she has touched.
The child advocates of Florida have great shoes to fill.
